Phrygian Iron

A free metal practice piece for electric guitar, level 3 (intermediate). Written for TabFollower, where the tab scrolls over a live band that hears what you play.

What you practise

Phrygian Iron keeps the lead on strings 1 to 4 (e to D), between fret 0 and fret 12, so it suits a intermediate player working on metal feel. Techniques drawn on the tab: 15 hammer-ons, 11 pull-offs, 6 palm muting. The band plays 4 beats to the bar at 150 bpm; in the app you can take it down to 38 bpm and let it wait for you in Practice mode, or switch off the clock entirely in Step mode.
